Ultra High Resolution Fibre Bragg Grating Interrogator

Technobis Fibre Technologies recently launched its new ultra-high-resolution Interrogator system, which goes by the name of the Lady Bug. Embarking on a new era of interrogating fiber Bragg gratings, we are heading for sub-nano strain and micro Kelvin measurements. Just imagine the possibilities! This can open up a whole new world of opportunities for fiber optic sensing. What about geophysical research, ultra-sensitive modal shape and frequency analysis of complex mechanical structures? Other options include highly sensitive thermal profiling of structures and processes and highly sensitive remote defense and security applications, to name but a few. Practically everything that moves or changes can be detected. As you might expect, it will be quite a milestone once we are able to measure the footsteps of a lady bug on a leaf.
This product launch is the first prototype in a path to develop an industrial system in the Lady Bug series for such ultra-high resolution, capable of interrogating at least 80 sensors at 80 kHz. This combination is unique and requires highly specific optics, new manufacturing techniques and lots of innovation and dedication.
It's a challenge we are well equipped to meet!
