Anheuser-Busch InBev has announced plans to launch the first of three beers as part of its Goose Island Imperial Series.
The Illinois, with an abv of 9%, is an Imperial IPA containing Chinook, Cascade, Citra and Meridian hops. The beer is getting a release in limited US markets from later this month, the company said yesterday (14 February).
A-B InBev, which acquired Goose Island in 2011, said the release is a homage to ‘The Mile High Illinois,’ a skyscraper Frank Lloyd Wright designed for Goose Island’s home city of Chicago in 1956 that was never built.
Earlier this month, the Budweiser brewer acquired US craft beer producer Blue Point Brewing Co. for an undisclosed sum.
